A historical building complex sitting at the restricted area of Lantau Island. There is no record nor vehicular access. The inspection demands a strong professional judgement based on very limited information and time of inspection.
SUN LAU STREET
This is the historical building preservation assignment where the building is sitting in Chung Ying Street near the border of Hong Kong. The building inspection is changeling because the structure is unstable while the building is a timber – concrete frame. The ground beam structure has been attacked by underground water for long time while the timber purling were found rotten.
CENTRAL POLICE STATION BLOCK 4
Central Police Station Block 4 is the historical building but accidentally collapsed in one incident. This results the building to have been shored with substantial propping. Since the existing roof structure and the building frame have been partially collapsed, the entire building is unstable and thus stationed with settlement and cracking monitoring.
8 KENNEDY TERRACE
Kennedy Terrace is the iconic contemporary building sitting at the heart of Garden Road. The building was highly complexes by the preservation element of existing building and the extremely complicated land matters under Deed of Mutual Covenant. The issue of Right of way poses a lot issues with GFA and plot ratio applicable. The construction program is highly contingent to many risks factors such as government approval process; revision of design and unprecedent nature of this development.
