The 50 years old “Tong Lau” is re-designed with the European facade. All the ventilation units and drainage system are re-arranged in the re-entrant for better facade outlook. Fire fighting system and electrical power has been upgraded to cope with the current law. Each apartment is re-layout for better area efficiency.

The building construction is under heavy strain with repeated design revision and the extreme weather in the years. Sandy Bay, where it is located, is vulnerable to road flooding due to the upper stream channel blockage in Mount Devils. This poses heavy changeling to the construction program.

The 50 years old “Tong Lau” is built with an additional storey in 4.0m height to create the wonderful living space with the view to the nearby greenery garden. The entire building is upgraded with Fire-fighting system and also now power supply . The ground level is re-layout for the luxury high end dinning restaurant.

Being one of the most valuable real estate in the Asian, the stone cladding of the house were found with much undersible defects. Thus the entire stone cladding are going to be re-do with new stone materials.
